This piece challenges the concept that boundaries hamper creativity. The multi-language newspaper background reflects the history of the site which used to be a printing factory, as well as the boundaries we face with languages and communication. Elements of Hackney Downs Studios’ site are drawn within the piece, as well as people’s reactions towards boundaries and unrestricted creativity. Tiny ladybirds remind us that beauty is found in the ugliest of places, and that imagination and creativity can break free of claustrophobic environments like butterflies, whose wings create the outer layer of the drawn piece.
